O, how helpless felt I
when strong arms wrapped 'round;
my limp, breathless body,
turning blue, with no sound.

Of a sudden burst forth
that accursed, Death~Bhen;
held me tightly in bondage,
struggling, strangling pain!

When Death thought to claim me
last night at Chez Nous;
God twart'd his plan,
sent an angel, 'twas you!

You with such a mission,
supernatural ~ strong;
Death surrendered his grip,
his plans somehow went wrong.

There must have been PRAY~ERS,
God heard through the din;
With Love stronger than Death,
would not let him win!

For with daring, swift purpose,
your rapid action rescue'd me;
words in any known language,
can't convey my gratitude to thee!

Thee, an ANGELIC KNIGHT,
rescue'd a damsel~in~distress;
terrified beyond measure,
who restor'd my so~longed~for breath!

May the same God who answer'd prayer,
crown'd thee Knight Eternally;
Let you know the deep gratitude
forever in my heart for thee!
