Swift, careless words,
two wounded hearts;
Oh, searing pain,
peace soon departs!

Relationship . . .
once tender, sweet;
marred by indifference
Injury ~ Retreat!

An ardent prayer,
a silent plea;
pledge to thwart
this cruel enemy!

Whose cunning plan,
demonic skill;
holds but one purpose,
destruction ~ KILL !

Must not succeed,
this evil foe;
in JESUS' name
slewfoot must go!

See hands outstretch'd
gently entwined;
two of them yours,
two of them mine . . .

BALM OF FORGIVENESS
strong bridge rebuilt;
replacing walls
expunging guilt!

Mending broken hearts,
that harshness tore;
precious bond restor'd
stronger than before.

Love e'er o'ercomes,
the bitterest fight;
tends bleeding hearts,
restores the right.

Speaks peace anew,
wipes tears away;
compassion's embrace
whispers, 'Belov'd, stay.
