THOUGHTS OF ERIN'S BEAUTY
Irish eyes ARE smiling
as St. Patty's Day draws nigh .
. .
toes begin atappin'
as the blarney starts to fly ~

Erin seems to draw us
to that land of folklore's fey .
. .
wee faeries wi' their pots 'o
gold
leprechauns n such as they ~

Shamrocks swirl before our eyes
tha heath upon the moor . . .
there' s shur ta be a banshee
wailing low outside tha door ~

Me mind's eye sees that ancient
place
of hooded Druid's rites . . .
Stonehenge emerges welcoming
new converts with delights ~

Me heart can hear the echo
of O Danny Boy so sweet . . .
A tenor sings Wild Irish Rose
'tis n Donegal they meet ~

If ye've a dropa Irish blood
let's celebrate our kith n kin .
. .
Thank God for the privilege
of our genealogy n then ~

Let thoughts of Erin's beauty
bring teardrops to our eyes . .
.
Pray one day our feet shall
touch
her soil fore we say our last
goodbyes!
