PORTRAIT SO POIGNANT

Pen never silent

gliding o'er pages

mingl'd there ~ teardrops

shed through the ages

Writ' by his hand

penned by a heart

broken too often

by cruel, fiery dart

Longings and Dreams

lost loves here then gone

heroes too few

childhood painful, alone

Musing through memories

some painful ~ some sweet

revealing deep wounds

where pen & page meet

Portrait so poignant

My dear Leon, This is YOUR page !
I pray this little surprise brings some
joy into your heart for that is my great desire.

How can I explain how your poetry
has touched my life? Since the first
day I opened your webhome to find
a longing heart there, you have been
in my prayers, Leon.

You are a very special man, whose
talents and gifts shall not be in vain.
God KNOWS just where you are,
Leon, and has many of His wonderful
surprises longing to find their way
into your life. He's like that, you know.
May He bathe your heart in His
precious love, is my prayer.

From my heart to yours,
Maryxo

The Things She Could Not See

The things she never wanted

the things she'll never see

the things she cannot understand

are precious things to me....

A rose to greet her mornings

over coffee brewed by me

the little things romantics do

the things she could not see....

The cook, mechanic, taxi man

the dreamer seeking dreams

the poet, lover, handyman

was not enough it seems.....

The look of joy in faces of

a child just barely three

who cannot understand nor cry

the tears for he and me....

She stood behind the fences

she had built around her heart

seeking greener pastures that

was tearing us apart.....

She could not see the beauty in

the dawn on storming seas

for all the walls she built between

the hearts of she and me....

Too late, I found, she only saw

demons by the sea

convinced herself she never cared

and killed a part of me....

The things she always wanted were

the things she could not see

the things that marked the end of us

was everything in me.....
