emember thou the upper room,
twelve apostles, with Christ, met;
one last Passover to share
oh, could we e'er forget? ~

The broken bread ~ the cup of wine,
'This in remembrance of me";
for example bathed disciples'
feet with such humility ~

Visualize the bag of silver,
have we Judases today;
would, for less than thirty pieces,
our Saviour to betray? ~

See the Garden of Gethsemane;
Jesus kneeling beside a stone;
sweat as scalding drops of blood,
seep'd from skin and bone ~

"Are you King of the Jews?"
'Ye say', was Christ's reply";
'He is condemned by his own mouth,
this blasphemer must die!' ~

And did you feel the cruel stripes,
The Lamb of God received;
that left him scourged beyond belief,
tender, broken heart so grieved ~

That angry, frothing, caustic mob,
spitting their venom out;
upon the One whom His cross bore,
up Via Del A Rosa's grievous route ~

Heard you every rusty spike,
nail'd into his wrists and feet;
The spiked crown ~ the rugged cross,
yet suffering not complete ~

Could any words ~ descriptions,
really capture mankind's depravity;
that Jesus took upon Himself
to purchase you and me? ~

"Into thy hands I commit my Spirit",
breathed He His dying breath;
as prophesied, no broken bones,
but, suffering and death ~

Three days inside a stone~sealed tomb,
His shrouded body lay;
conquering death, hell and the grave,
the angels soon would say ~

He is not here, He is alive,
He's risen from the grave;
Jesus Christ ~ Redeemer lives,
