White crosses lined all in a row
with heroes names engraved;
who with last ounce of strength,
for home and country gave.

We honor these Americans
in whom we have such pride;
who did not shirk their duty
but, on battlefields they died.

Or some at sea on battleship,
in ocean laid to rest;
who fought when strength was
finally gone ~ gave their very best!

In other countries, too,
we find the crosses that convey;
Americans fought for other's freedoms
we recall on Memorial Day.

They fought because of
their beliefs that freedom is not free;
for mothers, dads, sisters, brothers,
wife, children ~ family.

We must not e'er forget them
and those who fight on still;
with courage beyond self
there are some who always will.

A flag-draped coffin tells a tale
of courage brave and true;
Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine,
served Old Glory, red~white~blue.

So keep them e'er in memory,
who in ways both great and small;
remembering in prayer
those who gave their very all!

Dedicated to every brave warrior
who gave their life for The United States of America
and many other countries throughout the world
to protect freedom.
Also, for their families.
FREEDOM IS NOT FREE !!!
